Amisfield Lowburn Terrace Riesling – sweetness-acidity dance at its finest

The grapes for the Amisfield Lowburn Terrace Riesling come from Block 1 in the south-west corner of the Amisfield Estate. The vines grow on stony Lochar gravel overlain by sandy loam. Careful hand-picking of only late-ripening Riesling grapes and gentle pressing resulted in a very lively and aromatic juice. This was fermented cool in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation was stopped by further cooling when sugar and acidity were in balance. The finished wine was then matured on the fine lees for a further three months with minimal sulphur content.

And this is what the Amisfield Lowburn Terrace Riesling tastes like

The 2022 Amisfield Lowburn Terrace Riesling caresses the nose with a lively combination of lemon, lime and mandarin, overlaid with delicate white flowers. The palate is tangy and dances between lime zest and juicy summer citrus fruits. Underneath is a mineral note and a beautiful, balanced sweetness that leads to a long, sweet finish.
