Two Rivers Wines

Marlborough – New zealand

Two Rivers Wines takes its name from the two legendary rivers that feed the heart of winegrowing in Marlborough’s famous Wairau and Awatere valleys. Founder and winemaker David Clouston, who grew up in Marlborough, spent his childhood and youth in the Awatere Valley, overlooking the branching river. His family has been farming here for five generations. After deepening his wine knowledge in countries as diverse as the USA, Chile, Spain, France and Corsica, Dave’s desire to create inspiring wines on home soil was realized and his own winery was born. Full of energy and talent, he is the driving force behind Two Rivers Wines. His mission is to harness the intense fruit flavors of Marlborough while producing elegant New Zealand wines with purity and a sense of place. Grapes are sourced from the predominantly clay-based and densely planted Brookby Hill Vineyard in the Southern Valleys sub-region of Marlborough and from several key sites in Marlborough’s two main valleys. Winemaking techniques include natural fermentation, ageing in concrete vats, large oak barrels, a selection of French oak barrels and clay amphorae. His top New Zealand wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve complexity and texture.
