The Backyard Vineyards winery is located in the municipality of South Langley, British Columbia, in the Fraser Valley wine region. Vancouver, located on the Fraser River, is just under an hour’s drive away and so this wine region is often referred to as Vancouver’s backyard. Founded in 2009, Backyard Vineyards produces award-winning wines from up to 20 different grape varieties. The grapes are sourced 100 percent from British Columbia (BC), either from the Fraser Valley or the Okanagan Valley wine region.

In addition to single varietal wines, winemaker Liam Berti and his team also produce cuvées, sparkling wines and fortified port-style wines. The grape varieties used include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Riesling.

The winery’s tasting room and vinotheque are open all year round and offer an appealing setting for tasting and enjoyment. In summer, visitors can take a stroll through the estate’s vineyards or enjoy a glass of wine with one of the delicious tasting platters under the beautiful covered pavilion. Various exciting events take place throughout the year, and private tours and events are also gladly organized.
