Taste full-bodied wines from Georgia, the cradle of viticulture. Vines have been cultivated there for more than 8,000 years. In the course of its chequered history, the country was repeatedly overrun by other peoples. But today, after the proclamation of independence, there is a spirit of optimism in the small Caucasus country. The number of wineries is increasing rapidly and Georgian wines are becoming more and more popular internationally. To a large extent, the wines are still vinified traditionally in so-called qvevris. These are large clay amphorae that are buried in the ground. This old wine-making method produces fantastic white and red wines. The speciality, however, are the so-called “amber wines” or “orange wines”. Let yourself be enchanted by wines from Georgia, which are also very good accompaniments to food.
