All-round wine with a good price-enjoyment ratio

The Hill&Dale range offers wines that are already accessible in your youth and offer drinking fun. The grapes for Hill&Dale Chardonnay come from vineyards in the Stellenbosch region. The locations are usually located on cooler, southeast-facing slopes. The rows of vines run from northwest to southeast to maximize the effect of cooling maritime airflow during the hot summer ripening months. All vines stand on soils of decomposed granite, although on some slopes there is also some Table Mountain sandstone and slate. The grapes were harvested by hand in mid-February. After destemming and squeezing, the juice was immediately separated from the peels. After clarifying the juice, cold fermentation followed at about 16 degrees Celsius. This lasted between 16 and 19 days. During fermentation, no oak wood was used to preserve the character of the variety as much as possible. After four months of yeast contact, the wine was bottled.

And this is how the Hill&Dale Chardonnay tastes

Wonderful scents of lime and lemon flow from the Hill&Dale Chardonnay glass with subtle hints of freshly-baked brioche and ripe melon. On the palate, the wine is very lively and crisp, with a broad backbone and a creamy structure. It’s perfectly balanced, is full of character and has a long, lingering aftertaste.

2020 Hill&Dale Chardonnay

And the Chardonnay from Hill&Dale goes with it

The Hill& Dale Chardonnay is very pleasant on its own, but we appreciate it as a versatile food companion. Try it with grilled sole with caper sauce, creamy chicken noodles with lemon peel, tempura fish strips with mint peas or veal schnitzel.
