A Pinot Noir of a unique river location

Cornish Point is located in close proximity to a bend in the River Clutha. The proximity to the water requires its own very special microclimate. The grapes for this extraordinary Pinot Noir were harvested manually from the end of March. After the gentle destemming, maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts took place in open fermentation vats. 23 percent of the mash consisted of whole grapes. The red wine was aged for 13 months in French oak barrels, 30 percent of which in first occupancy, i.e. in new barrels. Before bottling, this exquisite red wine was not embellished or filtered.

And this is how The Pinot Noir Cornish Point of Felton Road tastes

The Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir seduces with its filigree, fine nose of dark fruits, raspberries, roses and crushed herbs. On the palate it is densely woven, with a velvety texture, smooth tannins and all sorts of aromas of dark raspberry, followed by rose and violet leaves and a pleasant hint of roasted notes. A rich, powerful and refined red wine, with wonderful balance and almost endless finish.

2019 Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir

And that fits the Pinot Noir Cornish Point of Felton Road

Game and wild fowl is the domain of Felton Road Cornish Point Pinot Noir. But it also has the size of lamb and beef. Try it with venison saddle in a nut coat with bread dumplings and red wine sauce. Or scrape down some of the semi-solid hard cheese Tête de Moine from Switzerland and treat yourself to a good piece of black bread.
