A profound, serious fun bringer

The grapes for this rich Pinot were gently harvested after manual harvesting and the berries were placed directly in open fermentation tanks, with the proportion of whole grapes being around 25 percent. Thanks to the unique felton Roads gravity cellar, this process was possible without mechanical pumping. The maceration, i.e. the soaking of the berries, took about 10 days. This was followed by fermentation with native yeasts. The must remained on the shells for a total of 23 days to achieve a perfect leaching of the color and tannins. Then it was pressed and the juice was led by gravity into the underground barrel cellars. The wine then spent 16 months in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new wood being 30 percent. The subsequent bottling of the finished red wine took place without fining and filtration.

And this is how the Pinot Noir Calvert from Felton Road tastes

Immediately the floral and wonderfully fragrant nose of the Felton Road Pinot Noir Calvert captivates you. Cool fruit opens the palate and reveals layers of spices and mineral notes. On the palate, this opulent red wine is well structured and balanced. The tannins are fine-grained and the acidity is well integrated, dark berry fruit and floral notes continue velvety, accompanied by ethereal tones. A very profound, noble wine, with good development potential and long, inspiring resonance.

2019 Felton Road Calvert Pinot Noir

This goes well with Felton Road’s Pinot Noir Calvert

The Felton Road Pinot Noir Calvert, what a meditation wine. All you need is a glass and a cozy place. But with its mineral-earthy nature, it is fantastic to game and wild fowl. Try it with wild ducks or pheasant breast with fine bacon lentils and potato dumplings.
