A Chardonnay with discreet wood insert

The Chardonnay from the Mendoza clone from Block 6 was pressed entirely, deposited overnight and guided by gravity into the barrel in the underground cellar. The fermentation took place with local yeasts in used French oak barriques (no new oak). In these barrels also a long and complete malolactic fermentation took place, which significantly softened the acidity. After 16 months of barrel maturation, the wine was finally moved into the tank before finally the unfiltered bottling took place.

And this is how felton Road’s Chardonnay Block 2 tastes

The Chardonnay Block 2 of Felton Road smells intensely of white flowers and green melon, accompanied by mineral tones. On the palate, the wine is then powerful, with invigorating, fine-nerved acidity and an impressive, salty minerality that comes from the slate gravel soils and the old vines.
