Classic fruity Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc – pure freshness and exoticism!

The Toi Toi wines of Marlborough Wine Ltd. were inspired by a native, original New Zealand grass whose name is “Toi Toi”. The winery chose the name because its wines are made inspired by nature. The home of Toi Toi is the Brookdale Vineyard, in the beautiful Omaka Valley in Marlborough. The philosophy of Toi Toi is to always follow the terroir in the winemaking process and to produce unique New Zealand wines from the best grape varieties of the respective area. The growing season in 2018 was unusually cold in Marlborough, resulting in the grapes being harvested over a week later than usual. Fortunately, Toi Toi had set exactly the right time when the grapes were already optimally ripe and just before the big rains began. As a result, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes could still be harvested in optimal condition after a long fear in order to obtain wonderful aromas in the wine. For the gentlest possible treatment of the berries, a machine was used for destemming. After pressing, the must was fermented at cool temperatures with the help of selected yeast strains in stainless steel tanks in order to optimally preserve the delicate fruit aromas. After fermentation, the wine was stored for a while on the fine yeast (sur lie) to give it a more complex, creamy mouthfeel.

And this is how the Toi Toi Sauvignon Blanc tastes

Intense aromas of lemongrass, yellow plum, pure claude, gooseberry, tropical fruits and lime blossom flow from the glass of Toi Toi Sauvignon Blanc into the nose. On the palate, this wonderful exotic fruit cocktail is repeated and is accompanied by a fine mineral note. A pleasant mouthfeel with a lot of freshness and a long finish makes you want more.

And the Toi Toi Sauvignon Blanc goes well with it

A combination of sweetness with something salty makes an optimal interaction with a glass of this Toi Toi Sauvignon Blanc. Try a fish poached with coconut on rice with tomato salsa and steamed spinach.
