As much power as an entire rugby team

The Blood & Courage is St John’s Roads’ interpretation of a perfect Barossa Valley Shiraz. Power with elegance. Magnificent primary fruity aromas, skilfully accompanied by oak notes. This classic Barossa Valley Shiraz is fresh and vibrant, yet rich in texture, with a well-integrated tannin: simply a stylish wine. The grapes for this Shiraz come from different plots of the Barossa Valley subregions Ebenezer and Stonewell. The latter is often cited as the parade region for classic, remarkable Barossa Shirazes. After harvesting, the grapes were squeezed and placed in large, open fermentation vats, where they were fermented for 8 to 10 days. They were then filled into various barrels for 10 months of optimal maturation: new (10%) and annual French barriques, as well as large French hogsheads. This Shiraz was made vegan.

And this is how the St. John’s Road Blood and Courage Shiraz 2016 tastes

The St. John’s Road Blood and Courage Shiraz captivates with fine aromas of red fruits, such as plums, raspberries and light cherries with hints of sweet spices and cherry sweets. In the mouth, the wine feels rich and dense, with clear, expressive fruit notes and hints of toasted vanilla. The fine-grained, well-integrated tannins lead to a long, dry and juicy finish.

2016 St. John’s Road Blood and Courage Shiraz

And the St. John’s Road Blood and Courage Shiraz 2016 fits in with this

The St. John’s Road Blood and Courage Shiraz can be wonderfully combined with a beef loin roast or alternatively a braised beef fillet with potato gratin and steamed green vegetables.
