An award-winning Pinot Gris

The previous vintage was rated best New Zealand Pinot Gris by New Zealand Cuisine Magazine. The grape material was harvested by hand. The ageing and fermentation took place to 50 percent in stainless steel, the other 50 percent were fermented in barriques, and aged for 5 months in it. This resulted in biological acid degradation. During maturation on the fine yeast, the yeast set was stirred up again and again (batonnage), which gives this wine an extraordinary complexity.

And this is how pinot gris from Weaver Estate Wines tastes

The Weaver Pinot Gris shows a strong straw yellow color with clear tones. From the glass flows a delicate scent of ripe Williams pear, net melon and stone fruit with notes of toasted wood and orange blossom. Full-bodied and dense in taste, with a creamy texture, the ripe pear continues on the palate, accompanied by apricots and biscuit. The acidity is well integrated, the wine is strong with a round, structured overall impression and a mineral finish.

And that goes well with Pinot Gris of Weaver Estate Wines

The Weaver Pinot Gris is an overall versatile accompaniment to Mediterranean salads, fruit salads, fish and crustaceans, mussels, pasta and light meat dishes such as poultry, veal and pork.
